Medical Transportation for New Jersey Healthcare Facilities
For discharge planners, case managers, unit secretaries, and facility schedulers who need a transport partner that shows up. One dispatch contact, standing orders that run themselves, consolidated invoicing — and both wheelchair and stretcher service from a single licensed provider.
One Vendor Instead of Two
New Jersey licenses medical transport at two levels. Most NEMT companies hold only the first, which is why facilities so often end up maintaining one vendor for wheelchair trips and a second for anyone who must travel lying flat — two sets of paperwork, two insurance certificates, two phone numbers, and a scramble whenever a patient's condition changes.
Mobility Assistance Vehicle (MAV)
Wheelchair-accessible vans with hydraulic lifts, ramps, and four-point securement. Under N.J.A.C. 8:40, wheelchair van crews must hold CPR certification and a Department-recognized passenger-assistance certificate — Passenger Assistance Techniques (PAT) Technician or Mobility Assistance Vehicle (MAV) Technician, often called MAVO certification.
Basic Life Support (BLS) Ambulance
True stretcher transport with EMT-trained, oxygen-ready crews for bedridden, post-surgical, bariatric, and bed-to-bed patients.
Delta holds both. When a resident's condition changes, the account, the invoice, and the phone number stay the same. More on how we are licensed and staffed
How a Facility Account Works
One setup call
We collect your billing contact, the departments that will be calling, and your typical trip types. No contract minimum, no setup fee.
Standing orders
Recurring runs — dialysis, day programs, weekly therapy — are entered once and then run without anyone re-booking them.
One invoice
A consolidated monthly statement itemized by date, patient, origin, destination, and level of service. Per-department billing if you need it.
Facilities and Programs We Serve
Each of these has its own scheduling rhythm, documentation, and rules. Pick yours for the specifics.
Hospitals & Discharge Planning
Same-day discharges, bed-to-bed transfers, and step-downs to rehab or skilled nursing. We coordinate directly with your discharge planners so the bed clears on schedule.

Recurring day-program, medical, and community transport for DDD-funded residents, with drivers trained for riders who need routine and familiarity.
Learn more →Surgery & Infusion Centers
Escorted discharge for sedated patients who cannot legally leave alone, plus recurring chemotherapy and infusion schedules.
Learn more →Workers' Compensation & Case Management
Documented, on-time transport to IMEs, therapy, and specialist visits, with the paperwork adjusters need for claim files.
Learn more →School Districts & Child Study Teams
Medically-supported student transport for districts and out-of-district placements, including wheelchair and nursing-supported routes.
Learn more →Skilled Nursing & Rehab Facilities
A skilled nursing or rehab resident's transport needs change with their condition. Someone who rides to appointments seated in a wheelchair van may need a stretcher after a hospital stay. Because Delta holds both MAV and BLS licenses, your nurses call one provider for either level.
Trips we run for skilled nursing and rehab facilities:
- Hospital discharges into your facility, and discharges from your facility home
- Returns from the emergency department once a resident is cleared to come back
- Non-emergency readmissions and transfers to the hospital
Dispatch answers 24/7, so a nurse arranging an emergency department return or a late discharge can reach a dispatcher at any hour. We cover all 21 New Jersey counties. Delta is non-emergency only; a resident in acute distress needs 911.
For how stretcher transfers from one bed to another work, see bed-to-bed transport. For how facilities, families, and providers coordinate a resident's hospital trip, read our nursing home to hospital transport guide.
Hospitals We Work With Every Week
Discharge timing, entrances, and staging differ at every hospital. These guides cover the facilities we run to most often.
Documentation for Your Vendor File
Everything procurement and compliance ask for, usually the same day:
- Certificate of insurance naming your facility as additional insured
- NJ DOH/OEMS license documentation — both MAV and BLS
- Completed W-9
- Driver credential summary — CPR and PAT or MAV Technician certification (often called MAVO), background screening
- Vehicle registration and commercial inspection records
- HIPAA acknowledgement and patient-privacy policy
Set Up a Facility Account
Tell us about your facility and the trips you arrange. This form starts an account conversation — it does not book a ride, so please leave out patient names and health details. To book a trip, call (973) 389-3110; dispatch is 24/7.

Facility Partner Questions
How do we set up a facility account?+
Call (973) 389-3110 and ask for facility scheduling, or send the facility account form on this page. Setting up an account takes one conversation: we collect your billing contact, the departments that will be calling, your typical trip types, and how you want trips confirmed. There is no contract minimum and no setup fee — most facilities start with a single trip and expand once they see the on-time record.
Can you invoice the facility instead of the patient?+
Yes. Facility-billed accounts receive a consolidated monthly invoice itemized by trip date, patient, origin, destination, and level of service, so it reconciles against your own records without a phone call. We can also bill per-department or per-cost-center if that matches how your budget is structured. For Medicaid-covered trips, billing routes through the state broker instead and costs the facility nothing.
Do you handle standing orders and recurring schedules?+
Yes, and this is most of what we do for facilities. Dialysis runs, adult day care routes, and weekly therapy appointments are set up once as a standing order and then run without anyone re-booking them. You get the same drivers wherever scheduling allows, which matters for residents with dementia, developmental disabilities, or anxiety around transport.
What licensing and insurance documentation can you provide?+
Delta is licensed by the New Jersey Department of Health, Office of Emergency Medical Services, as both a Mobility Assistance Vehicle (MAV) service and a Basic Life Support (BLS) ambulance service. We provide certificates of insurance naming your facility as additional insured, W-9s, license documentation, and driver credential summaries on request — typically the same day you ask.
Can you take stretcher patients, or only wheelchairs?+
Both. This is the practical reason facilities consolidate with us: most NJ NEMT companies hold MAV licensure only and can move a wheelchair but not a patient who must travel lying flat. Because we hold BLS licensure as well, a resident whose condition changes does not require you to find and vet a second vendor.
How much notice do you need?+
A day of notice is ideal for stretcher trips and anything involving stairs, oxygen, or bariatric equipment, because those determine the vehicle and crew we assign. That said, discharges rarely wait — same-day and next-day requests are routine, and facility accounts get priority in the dispatch queue.
What areas do you cover?+
All 21 New Jersey counties from our Totowa base, plus routine trips into New York City and Philadelphia for specialty care. We also handle long-distance and out-of-state transfers when a patient is relocating or returning home to family.
