How do I set up rides for a three-times-a-week dialysis schedule?
Call dispatch at (973) 389-3110 with your dialysis center, your chair days and times, your pickup address, and whether you ride seated in a wheelchair or must lie flat. We enter the schedule as recurring rides, so you do not rebook each week. If the center changes your chair days or times, call dispatch with the new schedule.
Can you handle evening chair times, late finishes and Sunday sessions?
Dispatch answers 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, including evenings and Sundays, so give us your real chair time when you set up the schedule, whether it is early morning, evening or Sunday. If a session runs long, the patient or the center can call dispatch so the ride home can be moved.
Can a family member ride along to dialysis?
Yes. On a private-pay trip, one companion rides at no additional charge. Two companions are often possible but depend on the vehicle, so ask when you book. If a child rides along in a car seat, the family supplies and installs the seat. If a plan is paying for the trip, mention the companion when the ride is booked.

What if the patient can no longer sit upright for the ride?
A patient who must travel lying down needs stretcher transport in a Basic Life Support (BLS) ambulance rather than a wheelchair van. Delta is licensed by the NJ Department of Health for both, so a recurring dialysis schedule can move from wheelchair van to stretcher without changing providers. Tell dispatch as soon as the patient's needs change.
