There is no Medicare-certified dialysis facility inside Cliffside Park. The nearest chairs are a few blocks over the Fairview line, at the Fresenius unit at 155-161 Bergen Boulevard, and down at river level, where DaVita runs a center at 7650 River Road in North Bergen beside Palisades Medical Center. That is a three-day-a-week trip. NJ Transit's local 751 and 755, the 156, 159 and 181 to Manhattan and the 22 to Jersey City all serve the borough, but they are built for commuters heading over the Hudson, not for a rider coming out of treatment lightheaded and cold with a wheelchair to manage. Cliffside Park has no Medicare-certified nursing home either, and neither do the four Bergen County boroughs that surround it — Edgewater, Fairview, Fort Lee and Ridgefield.
