5. Confirm Insurance Acceptance
Verify the provider accepts your specific MCO (Horizon NJ Health, Aetna Better Health, Amerigroup, WellCare, UnitedHealthcare Community Plan), Medicare Advantage plan, or workers' compensation carrier. Ask if they handle prior authorization on your behalf.
6. Read Reviews
Search on Google Maps and read recent reviews focusing on on-time performance, driver courtesy, and how complaints were handled. Ask your doctor's office which NEMT providers they have had good experiences with — clinical staff hear patient feedback regularly.
